America is the Great Land of Opportunity

America has always been a beacon of hope for people from all over the world. From the Pilgrims settlers of the 1600’s to the border crashers of today, the desire to reach American shores has withstood the test of time.

Land of dreams and opportunity

While immigration is a hotly debated topic, there is no debate about our shared American heritage. America was built on the backs of immigrants, refugees. and asylum seekers. People who ventured here with nothing more than the shirts on their backs and the hope of the American dream.

Their fortitude and perseverance to succeed in the face of adversity is the spirit that made America the greatest superpower mankind has ever known. Unfortunately, that point seems lost on so many Americans of today.

Today, many Americans are born into abundance and entitlement. They dwell on what they don’t have, fail to take responsibilities for their actions, and complain about how America’s opportunities only exist for a privileged few.

But most immigrants do not arrive in America with blonde hair or trust funds. Most come here with no money, no job, and no English. Against all odds, they build better lives for themselves and their families through blood, sweat, and tears.

America is alive and well

Ironically, they also would not have it any other way. The struggle is what keeps them humble, grateful, and acutely aware of the incredible opportunities America offers those who are willing to work for them.

The success stories of countless U.S. immigrants are as authentically American as can be, and their achievements are living proof that the American dream is alive and well for those who embrace it. At its best, America does not care what you look like or where you come from, only what you’re made of.
